The celebration for the 50th anniversary of GESAMP will take place on the 10th of September 2019 at the UN Headquarters in New York. The event will be co-hosted by UN-DOALOS and UNDP.
GESAMP is an advisory body established in 1969 that advises the United Nations (UN) system on the scientific aspects of marine environmental protection.
The programme will highlight GESAMP's past achievements, the Group's current work and articulate GESAMP's vision. More information on the event will be posted on the GESAMP webpage in due course.
