We are looking for a consultant for the IODE “Ocean data and Information System’ Programme component to take on the following tasks:

• Coordinate the implementation by all ODIS partners of the ODIS programme component workplan, as agreed upon by the SG-ODIS and approved by the IODE Committee and IOC Assembly, in close consultation with the members of the ODIS Steering Group and IODE Secretariat;
• Ensure effective communication and exchange of information between all ODIS partners;
• Coordinate communication and cooperation between the ODIS partners and other organizations, programmes and projects;
• Promote the joining of new partners and make arrangements for their training and technical implementation;
• Prepare and supervise contracts for necessary technical contractors;
• Assist with the organization of regional workshops (online or hybrid) in close consultation with IOC regional offices and regional partners;
• Update the ODIS web site regularly;
• Participate in relevant events to promote ODIS;
• Develop communication products such as posters, leaflets, brochure etc.;
• Organize 2025 session of the ODIS Steering Group, including preparation of the agenda, timetable and working documents, and prepare meeting reports;
• Identify additional ODIS partners;
• Report on results to the IODE Committee;
• Prepare annual and other reports (as requested);
• Identify opportunities for raising extra-budgetary funds and coordinate proposals to be written for such funding opportunities
