The Mediterranean LME is located between Southwestern Europe and Northern Africa and is bordered by a large number of countries.
The mandates of Mediterranean Sea LME include:
- Improving the quality of the marine environment through better shared management of land-based pollution.
- Facilitating implementation of the LBS Protocol.
- Supporting, promoting and facilitating, as appropriate, the capacity to apply, develop and manage the access of cleaner production technologies, as well as the Best Available Techniques and the Best Environmental Practice.
