African Conference on Priority Setting & Partnership Development for the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, Cairo, Egypt (HYBRID)

“The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO through its Sub-Commission for Africa (IOCAFRICA), the Government of Egypt through its Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (NIOF), Egypt in partnership with a wide range of partners in the region are organizing the “African Conference on Priority Setting & Partnership Development for the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development”  from 10-12 May 2022 in Cairo, Egypt in hybrid mode (virtual and in-presentia participation).

The Conference will celebrate the launch of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, in Africa and will aim to catalyse region-wide efforts in a substantive development and implementation of Decade Actions. The conference also aims to catalyse partnerships among various ocean stakeholder communities in the region, and initiate co-design of transformative ocean science solutions to the Ocean Decade Challenges, for long-lasting benefits for the African society.”
