This is to inform you that the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) in collaboration with the ECA Sub-regional Office of East Africa is organizing an on-line course on “Rebuilding a blue Economy post Covid-19: New challenges, recovery measures and resilience”. The course aims to introduce the fundamentals of the Blue Economy, its concept and approach, as well as to provide a step by step guide to help stakeholders to better mainstream the Blue Economy into their national strategic policy frameworks towards the implementation of the objectives of the Agendas 2030 and 2063.


This course will be delivered from 3 to 30 November 2020. The course is free and will be moderated asynchronously on a weekly basis and participants are required to participate in the weekly on-line discussions. In addition, each module has interactive lessons that provide the core content around the topic for that module. A certificate will be delivered to participants who will pass all the tests and the exam by the United Nations African Institute of Economic Development and Planning.

The deadline for submission of completed application form is October 15, 2020. We would be grateful if you could participate in the training or assist IDEP in disseminating the information to the relevant experts, ministerial departments and institutions in your sub-region.

Par la présente je viens vous informer que l'Institut Africain de Développement Economique et de la Planification (IDEP) en collaboration avec le Bureau Sous-Régional de l’Afrique de l’Est de la CEA, organise un cours en ligne sur la « Reconstruire une Economie Bleue après Covid-19 : Nouveaux défis, mesures de relèvement et résilience ». Ce cours vise à introduire les principes fondamentaux de l'économie bleue, son concept et son approche, ainsi qu'à fournir un guide étape par étape pour aider les parties prenantes à mieux intégrer l'économie bleue dans leurs cadres de politiques stratégiques nationaux en vue de la mise en œuvre des objectifs des Agendas 2030 et 2063.

Ce cours sera dispensé en ligne du 03 au 30 Novembre 2020. Le cours est gratuit et sera modéré de manière asynchrone sur une base hebdomadaire et les participants devront participer aux discussions hebdomadaires en ligne. En outre, chaque module comporte des leçons interactives qui fournissent le contenu principal autour du sujet de ce module. Un certificat sera délivré par l’Institut Africain de Développement Économique et de la Planification a ceux qui auront passé les tests et l’examen final.
