[Experts] Regional Consultations on the Development of a Regional Ocean Information Hub, Wednesday, 10 June 2020

Dear colleagues,

We invite you to participate in a stakeholder's consultation for the development of a regional ocean information hub for Africa and the Adjacent Island States to be held on Wednesday, 10 June 2020 from 12h00-14h00 East African time (=09H00-11H00 GMT).

The purpose of this meeting will be to:


(i)                  Share information on regional projects involved in data and information management and data infrastructure development in Africa



(ii)                Identify existing data and information infrastructures that could be potential partners with the Ocean Info Hub



(iii)               Identify existing data and information infrastructure that address these requirements and can partner in the development of the regional hub



(iv)               Identify some initial end user needs/knowledge products not yet covered by existing initiatives



(v)                Discuss way forward for collaboration mechanisms.
