Dear colleagues,
We are looking for nominations for candidates with good CV's to be considered for membership of the Joint Group of Experts on the Scientific Aspects of Marine Environmental Pollution - GESAMP.
GESAMP Focus: multidisciplinary, scientific understanding of marine ecosystems and human activities that affect them.
The regular work of GESAMP members revolves around:
1. Provide an overview of the marine environmental monitoring, assessment, and related activities of UN agencies, and advise on how these activities might be improved and better integrated and coordinated.
2. Identify new and emerging issues regarding the degradation of the marine environment that are of relevance to Governments and Sponsoring Organizations.

In essence the candidates can have expertise within a broad variety topics related to marine environmental protection and the science required for proper marine environmental protection.
Interested experts should send their CV's to Mika Odido (m.odido at unesco.org<mailto:m.odido at unesco.org>), with copy to Henrik Oksfeldt Enevoldsen (h.enevoldsen at bio.ku.dk<mailto:h.enevoldsen at bio.ku.dk>) not later than 15 June 2019.
