Dear colleagues,


It's a pleasure to let you know that the new http://UNWorldOceansDay.org is officially live and open to the public. The Portal remains in English only, but we will gradually move to have it translated (to French at first and progressively to other languages).


The Portal is also reachable via:

Vinny and I worked closely with the technical group, which includes colleagues from DOALOS and from the World Ocean Network over the last months to make this happen.


The preparation of the portal was supervised by the Steering Group, which includes representatives of institutions like NOAA, POGO, UNEP, WMO and World Ocean Day champions.


Let me take this opportunity to thank Vinny. He has coordinated the activities to set up the portal with competence, kindness, and great 'diplomatic' skills.
