It is devoted specifically to “Radar Tide Gauges”. This technology is increasingly replacing previous tide gauge technologies in many countries. At the 13th meeting of the GLOSS Group of Experts in November 2013 in Liverpool, a new edition of the Manual was proposed that would focus on this particular technology and pros and cons with its use.

The Manual has a Supplement titled Practical Experiences.

The Manual and Supplement can be downloaded here: http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0024/002469/246981E.pdf<http://ioc-goos.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=16036ef572b0c3aef59a0699e&id=17290abaaf&e=1a68f969d8>

The Manual will also be available in French and Spanish in a few weeks.

Hard copies can be obtained from Thorkild Aarup, Technical Secretary for GLOSS, IOC (e-mail: t.aarup at unesco.org<mailto:t.aarup at unesco.org> )
