<p>We are pleased to inform you that the United Nations General Assembly this week adopted a resolution declaring a UN Decade for Ocean Sciences starting 1 January 2021.
<span style="color: black; font-family: "Helvetica",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">
IOC will lead the implementation of the decade.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: black; font-family: "Helvetica",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;"><br>

<p><span style="color: black; font-family: "Helvetica",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Also note that the Africa Union at its 22nd Ordinary Assembly in 2014 declared the "<font face="Arial">Decade of
</font><font face="Arial">African Seas and Oceans" o run from 2015-2025. The decade was officially launched at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 25 July 2015 (African Day of Seas and Oceans).</font></span></p>
